Do You Know a Student Athlete?

Student athletes are more likely to experience psychological issues severe enough to warrant counseling and less likely to seek treatment than their peers who are not athletes. Among those issues are eating disorders, depression, social anxiety and substance abuse. For the student athlete in your life, keep an eye out for changes in sleep patterns, social isolation, not eating well, mood swings, performing differently for no apparent reason, stretches of apathy that last for several weeks, decline in grades.
